Utility Value

UTILCS2v0.1.0 · baseline · validated 2026-07-16

What it measures

Round-rate value of grenades: enemy blind time that leads to team action, utility damage, and flash assists. Measures utility that does something, not utility thrown.

Formal definition

Per round: 0.35 × enemy-blind seconds + 0.01 × utility damage + 0.5 × flash assists − 0.15 × teammate-blind seconds. Weights are versioned constants published here.

Inputs

  • grenade events with blind durations
  • utility damage
  • flash assists

Exclusions

None beyond the standard confidence floor.

Percentile interpretation

Support players should live at high percentiles; stars vary by system.

Confidence = source confidence × model confidence. Values from baseline models are capped at 0.7. Below-minimum samples display the value grayed out with no percentile.

Example

Pop-flash blinds two defenders 1.4s each and teammate converts → +0.98 + 0.5 (assist).

Known limitations

  • Smoke/molotov denial value not modeled in v0 (no space-occupancy model yet)
  • Weights are heuristic and versioned; treat cross-era comparisons carefully
