Rotation Efficiency
ROTFNv0.1.0 · baseline · validated 2026-07-16What it measures
How early and safely a player reaches the next zone: time inside the safe zone before it closes, storm damage taken, and distance traveled under pressure.
Formal definition
Per phase: (seconds inside next zone before close ÷ phase length) − 0.1 × storm ticks taken. Averaged over phases; requires position samples.
Inputs
- position samples
- storm phase geometry
- storm damage events
Exclusions
None beyond the standard confidence floor.
Sample & population
- Minimum sample
- 40 phases
- Baseline population
- Players in the same event/window
- Direction
- higher better
- Unit
- index
Percentile interpretation
Elite rotators sustain high values across phase counts.
Confidence = source confidence × model confidence. Values from baseline models are capped at 0.7. Below-minimum samples display the value grayed out with no percentile.
Example
Pre-rotating to a strong endgame spot 45s before close scores near 1.0 for that phase.
Known limitations
- Vehicle vs on-foot rotation not distinguished in v0
- Position data required (replay or vision-derived)
