Rotation Efficiency

ROTFNv0.1.0 · baseline · validated 2026-07-16

What it measures

How early and safely a player reaches the next zone: time inside the safe zone before it closes, storm damage taken, and distance traveled under pressure.

Formal definition

Per phase: (seconds inside next zone before close ÷ phase length) − 0.1 × storm ticks taken. Averaged over phases; requires position samples.

Inputs

  • position samples
  • storm phase geometry
  • storm damage events

Exclusions

None beyond the standard confidence floor.

Percentile interpretation

Elite rotators sustain high values across phase counts.

Confidence = source confidence × model confidence. Values from baseline models are capped at 0.7. Below-minimum samples display the value grayed out with no percentile.

Example

Pre-rotating to a strong endgame spot 45s before close scores near 1.0 for that phase.

Known limitations

  • Vehicle vs on-foot rotation not distinguished in v0
  • Position data required (replay or vision-derived)
