Opening Attempt Rate

OAR%VALv0.1.0 · experimental · validated 2026-07-16

Computed · experimental. Values are computed, but the definition or model may still change.

What it measures

How often a player is part of the round's first duel.

Formal definition

Rounds where the player was attacker or victim of the round's first kill ÷ rounds played.

Inputs

  • kill events with opening linkage

Exclusions

None beyond the standard confidence floor.

Sample & population

Minimum sample
80 rounds
Baseline population
Players in the same game/window; read within role
Direction
neutral
Unit
%

Percentile interpretation

Neutral: duelists high by design, sentinels low.

Confidence = source confidence × model confidence. Values from baseline models are capped at 0.7. Below-minimum samples display the value grayed out with no percentile.

Example

A duelist with first contact in 30 of 90 rounds → 33.3%.

Known limitations

  • The opening duel is identified by kill order within the round; a source that reorders simultaneous kills can move the attribution by one event
  • Space taken with utility that draws no duel is invisible
